Grab Your Watermelons
Grab Your Watermelons
A sign that Richmond is getting back to its old self is the announcement that the annual Carytown Watermelon Festival is back on this year. One of Richmond’s signature events, the Watermelon Festival is a free event in Carytown, attracting over 100,000 people each year.
Of course, last year, as the country was practicing social distancing and cancelling many events, the Watermelon Festival was unfortunately cancelled.
One of the fun things about the Watermelon Festival is multiple stages of live music and entertainment, over 100 different vendors, ranging from food to arts & crafts, and yes, of course, watermelon. There is truly something at this event for everyone. The annual Carytown Watermelon Festival will kick off on Sunday, August 8th from 10:00 am – 6:00 pm. Plan some time on your calendar to stop by.
The Watermelon Festival catches us during the heat of summer. Stay cool with this refreshing and healthy watermelon beverage.

As you get out and enjoy one of the most popular summer events in Richmond, remember to stay safe and use your best discretion as you navigate the crowds. Otherwise, have fun, and celebrate the end of summer with a nice, cool serving of watermelon.
